I am interested in your thoughts as to the relative value of upgrading to granite countertops in a home prior to a sale.
Quite often my clients in the remodeling sector ask if the cost of their new kitchen counter tops is recoverable in increased home value at point of sale. I always reply that while I cannot ascertain that, I feel it is likely that a home with upgraded counters, will certainly sell for more than without, & that it is likely to also shorten the market time of a sale. A typical set of counters in an average home would run between $3500.00 & $7000.00.
Thank you in advance for your thoughts.
Dan Canfield.
